Frequently Asked Questions

+ DO I HAVE TO PAY UP FRONT?

No. Maximum Insurance Adjusters does not receive any payment until money is collected from the insurance company. In fact, we spend our own money and time documenting and resolving your claim before we are paid anything; we work on a commission basis. Our fee structure is strictly based on what you receive. All payments for services are based on the percent commission established between the client and the Public Adjuster, so there are no out-of-pocket expenses.

+ Will I get a higher settlement for my claim?

With Maximum Insurance Adjusters you are almost always guaranteed a higher and quicker settlement. The more thorough and complete the claim, the higher the settlement will be. We meticulously inspect the loss site and document the damages. On severe losses where all or most of the contents are destroyed by fire, stolen, or blown away, we will go over a variety of checklists with you to help recap, on a room by room basis, what was in the property at the time of the loss. Having a professional who is looking out for your best interests and who understands the “inner workings” of the insurance company is invaluable. Maximum Insurance Adjusters will look for and find damages that the untrained eye will otherwise not see.

+ Will you document my property damage?

When you hire Maximum Insurance Adjusters to handle your claim, we will assess the damage to the interior and exterior of your property. We will closely inspect every element of your claim be it your roof, walls, floors, boat, marina, airplane, swimming pool, or personal contents.

Our highly trained and knowledgeable Public Adjusters will carefully review your property for wind damage, water damage, and mold damage caused by the hurricane or tornado. Maximum Insurance Adjusters will help you sort through the contents of your property and create a list of damaged and/or destroyed items. We will photograph and document any and all damaged or destroyed items to assist you with your claim.

However, if your insurance claim deals with a commercial property, it is beneficial to have lists of your inventory prepared for your public adjuster.

+ What happens if I have to move?

If you need to move off the premises, make sure you keep all receipts for hotel and food expenses. If you have Additional Living Expenses (ALE) coverage on your insurance policy, you will be reimbursed for these expenses.

Once your property has been damaged it is important to ensure that it does not sustain any further damage. Secure the windows and doors to prevent looting or vandalism to your property. Damaged roofs should be covered with a tarp to prevent water damage. If vacating your property, be sure to have the electricity and water shut off.

+ What if I need to hire a remediation company?

If your property suffered water damage you should hire a remediation company to dry out your property within the first 48 hours. This is a crucial step in preventing and containing mold growth.

Before signing a contract with a contractor or roofer, be sure to consult with one of our Public Adjusters about the details and the limitations of your insurance policy. Make certain that any contractor or roofer you hire is licensed and insured in the state of Florida. Verify that the license and insurance are still current before signing a contract.

Some hurricane/wind insurance policies have exclusions and limitations on other structures, mold, pools, pool enclosures, and other areas potentially affected by the hurricane or tornado. Hurricane/Wind insurance policies have various deductible amounts that can greatly impact your claim and ability to repair your property.

+ How long until I receive my insurance money?

It depends on each claim, the amount of supporting documentation available, previous payout amounts (if any), and how the claim has been handled. A claim, whether large or small, can take anywhere from 60 days up to a year to generate payment. Some claims can take longer if there are complicating factors.

Maximum Insurance Adjusters constantly strives to get payment issued to our clients as soon as possible, whether through an initial partial payment or full payment of the settlement. If partial payment is issued, Maximum Insurance Adjusters will pursue re-inspection, mediation, or even appraisal to ensure our clients get the maximum settlement under the policy for their loss.

No. If the money offered is less then what you need to complete your repairs, Maximum Insurance Adjusters can always file a supplemental claim and get you the money that you are entitled to under your policy. If your insurance company has issued you a check it is important to consult with Maximum Insurance Adjusters, or legal counsel, before depositing the check. Deposit of checks from your insurance company can prevent you from re-opening the claim or pursuing additional money from the insurance company.

+ Should I sign these insurance waivers?

No. Do not sign any release or waivers of any kind until you speak with a Public Adjuster or legal counsel. You do not want to waive any rights that would otherwise increase your settlement. At Maximum Insurance Adjusters, we only represent you, the policy holder, and we look out for your best interests. We will carefully review any and all documents from your insurance company with you to help you make a decision that will be in your best interests.

+ Do I accept the insurance's first settlement?

We work with you to maximize your settlement with the insurance company for the most money you are entitled to under your policy.
